CMR Surgical will showcase its Versius Surgical System at The Surgeon Show 2026, following a series of significant regulatory achievements that expand access to robotic-assisted surgery across both paediatric and adult care pathways.
The Company recently received CE and UKCA Marks for use of Versius in paediatric surgery, marking CMR Surgical’s first regulatory clearance for treating children. The approval covers abdominal surgery in children and infants under the age of 18, enabling broader adoption of robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery within paediatric settings.
Designed with a small, modular and portable architecture, Versius allows flexible set-up within virtually any operating room. Its compact instrument diameter and fully wristed instruments are well suited to paediatric anatomy, while the system’s mobility supports efficient use across departments without the need for a dedicated robotic theatre.
Massimiliano Colella, Chief Executive Officer at CMR Surgical, said: “The Surgeon Show provides an important platform to engage with senior surgical leaders and discuss how robotics is shaping the future of surgery. Following our recent regulatory milestones, including approval for paediatric surgery in Europe and FDA clearance for Versius Plus in the United States, we look forward to showcasing how the Versius platform is helping expand access to practical, flexible robotic-assisted surgery across a wider range of patients and care settings.”
Alongside its paediatric indication, CMR Surgical has also received FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States for Versius Plus, the Company’s second-generation surgical robotic platform. The clearance, granted for cholecystectomy procedures, supports CMR’s planned U.S. commercial launch from 2026.
Versius Plus builds on the clinical foundation of the original Versius system, introducing enhanced visualisation, including integrated fluorescence imaging, and a data-driven digital ecosystem designed to support surgical teams and hospital robotics programmes.
Outside the United States, CMR’s robotic platforms have now been used in over 40,000 surgical procedures worldwide, across specialties including urology, general surgery, gynaecology and thoracic surgery.
At The Surgeon Show 2026, delegates will have the opportunity to learn more about how Versius and Versius Plus are being deployed across diverse care settings - from high-volume elective procedures to complex surgical cases — and how modular robotic systems can support scalable, flexible adoption of minimally invasive surgery.
The Surgeon Show 2026 will bring together senior surgical leaders and industry innovators for a programme shaped around conversation and debate, exploring the issues influencing the future of surgery from the operating theatre of tomorrow to the growing role of AI, robotics and advanced technologies in clinical practice.
The event is invitation-only, with registration of interest available via surgeonshow.com.
