Bilateral hand transplant a success

feature

A team of surgeons at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, India, has successfully completed a bilateral hand transplant.

The 12-hour operation offers a new lease on life to a 45-year-old painter, Raj Kumar, who lost both of his hands in an accident.

The journey towards this remarkable feat began in October 2020 when he met with a devastating accident, run over by a train while crossing railway tracks on his bicycle.
