Stanley will be showcasing ErgoScan AI – a free ergonomic assessment app that uses your phone’s camera and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to quickly assess posture and movement at The Surgeon Show.
Designed to support surgical and theatre teams, ErgoScan AI identifies high-risk positions in real time and generates a customised report to help recognise and mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Delegates can experience a live demonstration with Stanley’s ergonomic specialist, Andre Jutel, Solutions Consultant, who will have the app running on his phone. You will be able to see, in real time, how certain movements – such as bending or twisting – can register as higher risk.
The app is an exciting tool that enables Stanley to provide bespoke reports and tailored recommendations, based on the movement patterns a surgeon would typically make in theatre.

Following the ergonomic assessment, delegates can explore suitable support solutions, including the opportunity to try on and test passive exoskeleton suits at the show. The lightweight exoskeleton, which comprises adjustable back, shoulder and arm straps, supports the wearer’s musculoskeletal structure while maintaining freedom of movement without restriction.
This practical, end-to-end approach – from movement analysis to supportive equipment trials – has already been demonstrated in clinical settings, including St Mark’s Hospital and Harefield Hospital.
