The Surgeon Show 2026 has been officially awarded Ethical MedTech accreditation, recognising its compliance with the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice. This accreditation, granted through the Conference Vetting System (CVS), confirms that the event meets the highest ethical standards for industry support and collaboration.
Ethical MedTech accreditation is a key marker of transparency and professionalism within the medical technology sector. It ensures that educational and scientific events are organised independently, with integrity, and in full compliance with MedTech Europe’s ethical framework.
Under the CVS, an independent review process assesses whether an event is suitable for financial support from MedTech Europe and Mecomed member companies, including educational grants, exhibition sponsorship, and participation in symposia. Only events that receive a positive assessment are deemed appropriate for industry support, helping to maintain trust across the healthcare ecosystem.
Receiving Ethical MedTech accreditation means The Surgeon Show 2026 upholds the values of ethical collaboration, transparency, and education. It demonstrates a commitment to providing a compliant and independent platform for learning and discussion ensuring that every conversation takes place in an environment of professional integrity.
Professor Shafi Ahmed, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Co-Founder of The Surgeon Show, said: “Earning Ethical MedTech accreditation is an important milestone for The Surgeon Show. It reflects our commitment to delivering independent, educational, and ethically sound discussions that move surgery forward. By meeting the highest standards of transparency and integrity, we’re creating a trusted space where surgeons, innovators, and industry can collaborate responsibly - all with the shared goal of improving patient care.”
